Thanks be to Christ... Thanksgiving and Christmas

Thanks for tuning in to my music journal. I would love to get into the studio to work on the album, but it is truly on the backburner.

I will offer some music, God-willing, for an event in January, totally low-key, enjoyable, and relaxed. I love that!

I am putting together ideas for another concert, date not yet set. Plans not firm, but at least the idea is a GO!

I'm excited that God will use this music for my good and His glory! He'll use a sinner, even me. Thank You, Jesus, for redeeming me and O God, all the years the locusts have eaten. You promised.

The message is praise now. Sing a new song. And praise!

"For My Sake" played in podcast, #213, check it out!

I hope you'll have a listen to the playing of "For My Sake" on Daily Pod programming, and if you speak German, please translate and contact me for fun...

Time is being spent preparing for background music for a graduation party I'll be playing at this November. As well, I have to edit a manuscript in order to submit it to a publisher; hopefully someone will pick it up someday! It's a favorite choral piece of mine.

I am deciding on repertoire for a mini-concert I'll be giving with my husband and my dear violinist friend, Michelle, who is also my daughter's violin teacher! I have found that violin adds so much beauty to some of my songs. It is a delight. My husband's voice and the parts he has created for back-up on songs adds incredibly, as well. I've written a fun, upbeat Christmas song, but this event will be in January so may be a bit late to share, however, Christmas is never out of season, is it?

hope dance

sea of sun

I went out and got the best photos yesterday! It was very exciting.

The closest I've gotten to recording music lately was bumping into the tech guy. Oh well, there will come a day! Till then it's sing a new song. And hope.

Psalm 138

I will give You thanks with all my heart; I will sing praises to You before the gods. (Psalm 138:1)

I will bow down toward Your holy temple And give thanks to Your name for Your lovingkindness and Your truth; For You have magnified Your word according to all Your name. (Psalm 138:2)

On the day I called, You answered me; You made me bold with strength in my soul. (Psalm 138:3)

All the kings of the earth will give thanks to You, O LORD, When they have heard the words of Your mouth. (Psalm 138:4)

And they will sing of the ways of the LORD, For great is the glory of the LORD. (Psalm 138:5)

For though the LORD is exalted, Yet He regards the lowly, But the haughty He knows from afar. (Psalm 138:6)

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch forth Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, And Your right hand will save me. (Psalm 138:7)

The LORD will accomplish what concerns me; Your lovingkindness, O LORD, is everlasting; Do not forsake the works of Your hands. (Psalm 138:8)

An Old Song

Well, today was a day of songs, but not all mine. The beginner Suzuki cd was played in-vehicle as we drove from the office, to swimming, to violin-- you get the picture. En route to violin we stopped for one of our favorite things, a sesame roll, and they were dog bad! Stale.

I listened to my children all making joyful albethey goofy sounds to and fro our stops today, the older daughter practicing many known songs, the younger one creating originals... my son, well, he prefers war sounds, battle sounds, and everything "pretend". After 100 degrees sitting at the pool these became more wearing than "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star"... but nevertheless, a joyful sound. For us yet in America, the sounds of war are made by little boys innocently playing; how much we take for granted. And then, how many wars we fight at home.

I practiced a couple of songs for the album tonight, it's been a very long while.

A New Song

Welcome! I hope you reside well in this spot. Here I will take you in and out of my music, which at the moment is on standby... And I hope you enjoy your time with me. But more, I hope it all takes you to the place where you were created to dwell. For Him, and for His glory. Goodnight.
